Commissioning Ceremony of Fiji's Roving Ambassador to the Pacific Islands States and Special Envoy to the Regional Organisations

His Excellency Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote commissioned Fiji's Roving Ambassador to the Pacific Islands States and Special Envoy to the Regional Organisations under the Council of Regional Organisations in the Pacific, Ratu Seremaia Tuinausori Cavuilati on Friday, 19th January.

The ceremony at the Borron House in Suva was attended by the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs,
Brigadier-General (Ret’d) Ioane Naivalurua, and other senior officials of the Ministry. Ambassador Cavuilati commenced work in the civil service in 1976. He previously worked at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Civil Aviation and External Trade. He served as Fiji’s Ambassador to Japan from 1997 to 2001. Ambassador Cavuilati was also the Permanent Secretary for the Public Service Commission from 2001 to 2004. From 2004 to 2009, Ambassador Cavuilati served as Fiji’s Permanent Representative to the European Union, ACP Group and Europe-based Multilateral Institutions. He served as Fiji’s Roving Ambassador/High Commissioner to the Pacific Island Countries, and as Fiji’s Ambassador to Indonesia from 2011 to 2016. Ambassador Cavuilati received his tertiary qualifications from the University of the South Pacific and Mumbai, India.
