Swearing-in-Ceremony for Justice Vishwa Datt Sharma.

Fiji’s judiciary welcomed a new inclusion following the appointment of Acting Judge, Justice Vishwa Datt Sharma on Wednesday, 15th August, at the Executive Office, State House.

Honourable Mr. Chief Justice Anthony Gates, Mr. Vishwa Datt Sharma, His Excellency Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote, Mrs. Sudeshna Sharma and Chief Registrar Mr. Yohan Liyanage

Justice Vishwa Datt Sharma was officially sworn in by the President, His Excellency Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote. His Lordship holds a Professional Diploma in Legal Practice, and a Bachelor of Law, from the University of the South Pacific. He joined the judiciary as a Clerk in 1977 and worked his way through the ranks until becoming a Senior Court Officer. In 2009, he was appointed as a Legal Officer in the Attorney-General’s Chambers and later appointed as Resident Magistrate in 2014. Following this, he was appointed as Acting Master of the High Court in Suva and confirmed to the position in 2016. He presently holds the position of the Master at the High Court in Suva. Present at the swearing in ceremony from the Judiciary were Mr. Chief Justice Anthony Gates and Chief Registrar Yohan Liyanage.
