Swearing-In Ceremony of Puisne Judge of the High Court

Honourable Justice Kurukula Arachchige Shiron Jude Nanayakkara was sworn in as Puisne Judge of the High Court of Fiji on Tuesday, 16th January. Honourable Justice Nanayakkara took his ‘Oath of Allegiance’ at the State House officiated by His Excellency Major-General (Ret’d) Joji Konusi Konrote, in the presence of the Honourable Mr. Chief Justice Anthony Gates and Chief Registrar Mr. Yohan Liyanage.

Honourable Justice Nanayakkara attained his Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Colombo,
Sri Lanka in 1996. His Lordship joined the Attorney-General’s Department in Sri Lanka in 2000 where he later became the Senior State Counsel.
Honourable Justice Nanayakkara has 17 years of experience in the Criminal Division of the Attorney-General’s Department. His Lordship joined the Judiciary of Fiji in 2010 as a Resident Magistrate. Prior to his appointment as a Puisne Judge, Honourable Justice Nanayakkara was the Master of the High Court of Lautoka.
