Farewell Call from the Outgoing French Ambassador.

The President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote on Thursday, 8th August, 2019 received a farewell call from the outgoing Ambassador of France to Fiji, His Excellency Sujiro Seam.

The President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Major General (Ret'd) Jioji Konusi Konrote with the Former French Ambassador and newly appointed Head of Pacific Delegation for the European Union (EU).

Ambassador Seam was appointed the French Ambassador to Fiji on September 12, 2017 and was also accredited to Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga and Tuvalu.

The outgoing Ambassador was recently appointed as the new head of the Pacific Delegation for the European Union (EU) and is set to take up the new role in September, this year.

Mr. Seam said,

Farewell calls are usually sad events.  As I will continue my work in Fiji, serving as the next European Ambassador, I don’t have a heavy heart at the time when my tenure as the Ambassador of Frances comes to an end, knowing that I will continue to stay in Fiji!”

His Excellency the President of Fiji presented the former French Ambassador with a Fijian traditional ‘lali’.
