His Excellency Major- General (Ret'd) Jioji Konusi Konrote hosted the Commonwealth Day Reception on Monday, 19th March at Borron House, Suva.
The President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Major- General (Ret'd) Jioji Konusi Konrote, British High Commissioner to Fiji, Her Excellency Melanie Hopkins, Prime Minister Honourable Voreqe Bainimarama and former President of Fiji Ratu Epeli Nailatikau at Borron House, Suva.
The Honourable Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Voreqe Bainimarama, Cabinet Ministers and Members of the Diplomatic Corp together with other invited guests joined the Fijian Head of State in a toast to commemorate Commonwealth Day. The Republic of the Fiji Military Forces performed the Beating of Retreat which was followed by the reading of Her Majesty the Queen’s Commonwealth Day message by the British High Commissioner to Fiji Her Excellency Melanie Hopkins. The occasion ended with the cutting of the cake to mark the Commonwealth Day celebration.
